Cruisin' Saturday Night
The 6th annual "Cruisin Saturday Night" Car Show was held September 11th. It was a mixed bag of weather for the day of the car show which coincided with Racine's "Party in the Park" festivities. People showing their cars, tractors, and motorcycles could enjoy browsing through the show or going to the park and partaking of the crafts, foods and special events offered by members of our small community. The evening culminated with a tremendous performance by Bucky Covington and his brother. All of this was offered to raise money for our young people to further their education through scholarships. The car show itself had over fifty five participants who braved the threat of thunderstorms to bring out ther prized possessions to show. Because of all the wonderful companies and people who supported this event, we were able to raise approximately $5,000.00 again this year for scholarships. Our sincere thank you goes out to all who helped in any way. Hill's staff does a tremendous job of organizing and running the car show and of course, it goes without saying they are very much appreciated.
The entries this year were down, but those who braved the weather displayed some beautiful automobiles. Thank you for sharing them.
Our staff still had a smile even though they were busy as bees. Thanks to all of you.
Dylan and Don Hill stand by a beautifully restored 1950 A Farmall tractor. Thank you for sharing it with us this year.
It really wasn't the greatest motorcycle weather, but thanks goes out to those who rode or brought their motorcycles to show.
Thank you to Dave Wright for bringing another beautifully restored truck to our show. He won best show for this beautiful 1956 Ford F150.
Of course, it wouldn't be a fun show if there wasn't food near by. Just look at the enjoyment Layne Hill gets out of eating this ice cream at the show!
